Why We Started
At Honey Bunny Daycare, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children. We offer a Mandarin Chinese bilingual daycare program to all families that wish to provide their children with a cultural enrichment. Our founder and lead teacher Lucy was born and raised in Mainland China and moved to Ithaca, NY for college when she was 18. As a mother of two, Lucy has been teaching her mother tongue to her own children. Our unique language immersion program incorporates a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning.
We are a fully insured, NYS licensed daycare home. We are limited to 2 children under two years old per care giver. We would like to take no more than 6 children at the moment, due to concerns regarding COVID-19. Our enrollment is first come first serve and based on availability for your child's age group. No child or family will be discriminated against because of race, creed, color, national origin, gender or sexual orientation.
We are proud to be a living wage employer. We believe that the child care providers who take care of your children deserve to be paid at least a living wage with healthcare benefit and paid sick leave in order to make sure that your children receive the highest quality of care in a safe, healthy, and loving environment.

Our mission is to nurture and cultivate the children to become future world citizens who are compassionate and responsible. We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
From language and literacy development to social skills and creative expression, the children at Honey Bunny Daycare are constantly being exposed to new activities and environments in which to thrive. We build on the strengths and interests of each child to help build a solid foundation where they can develop their futures.
